 Kindergarten Information

At Hayworth Christian School we believe a solid foundation is the key for academic success. This foundation starts at birth. We believe that parents are the primary educators in a child's life. Much of a child's academic success is determined at an early age. Preparation for academic success starts at home. Hayworth Christian School's kindergarten program is designed to bridge the gap between early childhood learning and elementary education.

In our kindergarten program we concentrate on the developmental needs of our students so we are assured of their school readiness. We endeavor to tap the natural inquisitiveness of our youngest students so that they have every opportunity to discover learning. Their relationship with the teacher, their fellow students and Jesus Christ are nurtured so that they grow strong in themselves as they prepare to tackle the academic challenges set before them. In a class of 12 students or less, each child has a greater opportunity to discover their individuality and set the groundwork for future learning.

Our kindergarten program is a full-day program (8am-2:00pm).  Basic content areas include phonics, handwriting, numbers, reading and math. We expand our standard curriculum to include science, social studies, music, art, computer, and physical education related activities.

Students applying for enrollment in Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or by August 31st in compliance with the State of North Carolina requirements.
