HAYWORTH CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL

A MINISTRY

Hayworth Christian Preschool is a nonprofit, religious preschool registered with the State of North Carolina.  It is part of Hayworth Christian School which is also a nonprofit religious corporation registered with the State of North Carolina.

EVANGELICAL

The Bible curriculum centers on a systematic understanding of the events of the Old and New Testaments.  The Person and work of Jesus Christ is the focus of the study.  Jesus is presented as the Creator God (Genesis 1; John 1; Colossians 1), the Savior Redeemer (Isaiah 53; John; Acts; N.T.), the reigning King of kings and Lord of lords, the One whose return we momentarily expect.

CHRIST-CENTERED

The preschool has adopted a statement of faith that is consistent with the doctrinal statements of the National Association of Evangelicals and the Association of Christian Schools International.  These doctrines are taught in the classroom and proclaimed in the chapel services.  They are the foundation of all curriculum taught.

NOT AGAINST…BUT FOR…

We are not “against” public preschool, but we are “for” private evangelical Christian preschool education.  It is our conviction that parents should be given the option of sending their children to a private evangelical Christian preschool.  We are privileged to make that option available to families within the radius of our campus.

NOT COMPETITION, BUT EXCELLENCE

Our motivation is not competition with public or private preschools.  Our motivation is to achieve excellence in curriculum, biblical knowledge, physical and motivational development, and social and emotional maturity by involvement, and by giving young children “room and time to grow.”

NOT IN PLACE OF, BUT IN SUPPORT OF, THE HOME AND CHURCH

We could not, and have no desire to, take the place of the father and mother of the young child.  We cannot do what the parents will not do.  Our objective is to firmly support and reinforce what the parents are already doing in the home.  If the home is not Christ-centered and biblically based, then what/who we are in Christ may introduce Christ to the parents and family.

NOT A CHURCH, BUT A PRESCHOOL

We are not a three-day-a-week church.  Hayworth Christian Preschool supports and reinforces what the family and church are.  Our teachers must have made a personal profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and be active in a local church.  The preschool’s Bible times, and practical Christian living are not designed to take the place of Sunday church or other phases of

church life.  The preschool will be unable to accomplish its goal of supporting and reinforcing the life of the family and church if this attitude is adopted.

REASON FOR BEING

A preschool must keep in clear focus its “reason for being.”  Our reasons for being are:

To give children an opportunity, atmosphere, and assistance to achieve.

To give Christian families a preschool that stands for, supports and reinforces the evangelical Christian way of life.

To prepare children to “live in this world” but not “become a part of this world.”

To take away from our society the “prime time” of our children’s minds that it has claimed.  We are reclaiming those prime hours of learning so that Christ can be at the center of their learning experiences.

To provide children an opportunity to develop special skills under the direction of teachers who love and honor Christ.

Tuition:

                Registration Fee:  $70.00

                Yearly Tuition:  $1600.00/160.00 per month. (10 months).

Hours:

                Monday, Wednesday, Friday  8:00 – 12:30.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE           

We purpose…

To honor God by providing quality care and facilitating growth in the lives of young children in a loving and safe environment where they can develop spiritually as they grow emotionally, physically, cognitively, and socially. 

To provide a Christian service to the families and children of the community.

To support the values of the Christian home.

To foster learning and allow the child to develop socially in an age-appropriate environment including such activities as:

1. Beginning language skills
2. Letter recognition and introduction to phonics 
3. Number recognition and introduction to basic math concepts 
4. Strong emphasis on children’s literature 
5. Bible stories and Bible memory 
6. Open-ended art activities 
7. Science, through hands-on introduction to God’s world 
8. Social interaction 
9. Large-muscle and small-muscle motor skill development 
10. Field trips and special event days 

To provide facilities where all are welcome regardless of race, color, sex, or national and ethnic origin.

 To develop the total personality of each child by providing an educational experience of lasting value:

      Spiritually

Through including God’s Word in the daily program in Bible stories, verse memorization, and songs; through the modeling of Christ by the facility and administration.

Emotionally 

    By providing a loving and caring faculty in a safe and nurturing environment

    designed specifically for the needs of the young child.

Physically 

    By offering experiences that will develop large- and small-muscle coordination and

    motor skills.

Cognitively/intellectually 

    By exploring and using firsthand experiences that will help to build an enthusiasm

    for learning.

Socially 

    By encouraging participation in group activities and getting along with others.
